So before there was LMFAO, there was one performer whose music videos always cracked me up--Ludacris. There aren't many who don't know who you're quoting when you tell a bitch to get out da way or want to know someone's fantasy. Being as such, it was perfectly natural for me to pick Ludacris - Get Back for my signature performance at a karaoke party almost a year ago. Thus far, it has yet to be forgotten by the friends in attendance. (Possibly because I knew where to reinsert all of the edited words from the karaoke version of the song.)

So we've all heard Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know by now. It never stops playing on the radio along with Sexy and I Know It. (Two songs I never tire of, by the way.) The only thing that could make the Gotye song better is Tiesto. So today I've embedded the Tiesto remix!!!

It's hard not to stop and listen to the song no matter how many times we've heard it. Probably because we're all stopping and thinking of the people we used to know.

I'm sure you've noticed I've yet to load pictures and details from LARF (the renfest). I have yet to find my usb cord for my camera or my converter for the memory card. Go figure. Guess this means I need to clean more. (I have also yet to actually start my novel for NaNoWriMo. I've got an idea though!) However, there's no reason to let you down for the Sunday Sing-Along.

Many of you already know about my online gaming habits. I've unfortunately not had time to return to Second Life since I started my new job. This also means I haven't deejayed in months. I'm sure everyone who either listens to the radio or goes out more than once a year has heard 'Wobble Baby' by V.I.C. Quite frankly, I try to wobble in my car when it comes on. When it's on in the club, this is the song that it absolutely does not matter how badly my feet hurt--I'm up and wobblin' on em. (Which is actually rather convenient since by that point I'm probably also drunk as well.)

Hell yes, I like Beck. The 8-bit remix takes Ghettochip Malfunction to a whole new level (especially since the music video features the discontinued Sony QRio Robot. The only thing cooler than a dancing baby is a dancing robot.




Seriously, couldn't you just watch that over and over? If you didn't say hell yes, you need to watch the video one more time.

Personally, I'm a rather big fan of Lykke Li and the original version of this song is my all time favorite love song (of sorts). When I discovered the remix with Drake, I was honestly expecting it to ruin a good thing, but remarkably I found the song even more compelling.



Lykke Li rocks this song for me because you don't just feel her hesitation in her words, but in the tone and rhythm of the song itself. Drakes vocals mirror her softness and hesitance, while giving a little more background to their personal story. Despite making the song more about an affair, I can still strangely relate. It's a relationship that isn't supposed to be more than what it is, a fling, but they are both finding themselves drawn to each other.

And of course, they are scared of ruining what they have.

The song is pretty, it's pervasive, and you'll find it stuck in your head all day every day. At least I do, just a little bit.

So tonight The Cabbage is only coming to you on special request. It just so happens that tonight is sing-along night, so I can blog you something without having to delve far into my own misery. I'm well aware the world lives on other's people's mire, but I don't feel I should enable my readers to be like the rest of the world by giving them more blood to suck. You're supposed to be becoming better people, one cabbage at a time!!!


So, tonight's sing-along is my favorite song, Hologram by Katie Herzig. So, the song is a wee bit on the depressing side, but it is my favorite song. I'll break it down as usual, but not to make fun.

 This verse really grabbed me the first time I heard the song. Why? Because I hear at least part of it all the time. Every first date or meeting some new fellow... Dude, I so need more than one date to decide.
